The Golden Civic Foundation is proud to launch a new summertime event to connect with Golden families and residents, promote community involvement and celebrate Golden's small town, friendly atmosphere. The Golden Summer Jam will be held on Friday, July 14 at the Buffalo Rose from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and features live music, food and fun for all ages.
Tickets to the Golden Summer Jam are $15 for adults and free for children under 18 (admission for up to two children per family is free). Please note that there are a limited number of tickets that can be purchased so be sure to register early. Each adult ticket comes with a free Colorado Native Pilsner beer thanks to AC Golden's generous sponsorship.
Following is an overview of the evening's performances:
5:30pm - Doors open
6pm - Skeleton Dolls: Based in Golden, this band is composed of three sisters that play their own rocking' music as well as cover tunes from the pantheon of Rock n' Roll heroes such as Chuck Berry Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Ramones, Nirvana and many others.
7pm - Thunder and Rain: Named as Westword Magazine's #1 Bluegrass band of 2016, this Golden-based band plays modern country originals as well as cover songs. You can also see their lead singer, Erinn Peet-Lukes, giving guitar lessons to kids in the Golden community.
8pm - Weatherbee and the Gnarbillys: Many will recognize Golden local, Matt Weatherbee, from the infamous Mountain Toad. Playing covers as well as originals, their performance will include influences from Blues, Bluegrass, Honky-tonk, Jazz, Rock-a-billy, Surf, Punk and Western Swing.
